US real estate company Carpenter & Company purchased the construction site. The expected cost of construction is about USD100 million and the hotel will have about 250 employees. The luxury hotel is expected to begin operation within two or three years, according to Iceland Review.

Price per night is yet to be determined, but Sandeep Walia, Marriott’s Europe regional manager is certain it will be “on the higher end.” The cost of one night at the London Edition is ISK 84.000 and up (EUR 570).
