Bodø/Glimt is First Arctic Football Team to Qualify for Champions League

The Northern Norwegian football team of Bodø/Glimt made history this week by qualifying for the UEFA Champions League. In the coming months, the Aspmyra stadium will host some of Europe's biggest football clubs.
After having defeated the football team Sturm Graz in Austria this week, it became clear that the football team of Bodø/Glimt has qualified for the UEFA Champions League.
This is the first time in Bodø/Glimt's history that the team qualifies for the prestigious tournament, considered by many as the world's greatest club competition.
It is also the first time a football team from the Arctic has qualified for the tournament.
Manchester City at Aspmyra
In the coming months, the Bodø/Glimt stadium of Aspmyra will host some of Europe's biggest football clubs.
While the dates are not set yet, Bodø/Glimt will meet the following teams at home:
- Manchester City
- Juventus
- Tottenham
- Monaco
Away matches are the following:
- Borussia Dortmund
- Atletico Madrid
- Slavia Praha
- Galatasaray

Historic development
Bodø/Glimt has made major strides in the past years, playing against big opponents like Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham and AS Roma.
The team from the Arctic has won the Norwegian national league, Eliteserien, in 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024.
Bodø/Glimt is the first Norwegian soccer team to play in the Champions League since Rosenborg qualified in 2007.
