Russia-China Energy Cooperation in Focus as Putin Visits Xi

The Chinese president welcomed Putin to Beijing on Tuesday. This is the second meeting between the two in 6 months. According to Reuters, the energy cooperation between the two countries will be in focus.

Since the start of the Ukrainian conflict, Russia has cemented its energy ties with China, the world's No. 2 oil consumer after the United States.

Russia exports around 2.0 million barrels of oil daily to China, accounting for over a third of its total crude oil exports. China is Russia's second-largest buyer of Russian oil after India.
