Upgrades Wisting Deposit in the Barents Sea

OMV upgrades its reserve estimates for the Wisting deposit in the Barents Sea, according to petro.no. The volumes of the Wisting deposits are now estimated at 440 million barrels of oil, an increase of 350 million barrels reported in 2017.

The deposit has to be developed through a FPSO; a floating production, storage and offloading unit.

- We are looking into two possible consepts. One is a circular floating FPSO, like Goliat, and the other is a ship-formed FPSO like the Johan Castberg, says Managing Director of OMV Norway Knut Mauseth to the online paper. A final concept choice is expected to be made by 2020.
