UiT The Arctic University of Norway Takes Over Chairship of The Arctic Six

For the next two years, UiT will be responsible for creating closer cooperation between six Arctic universities in Norway, Sweden, and Finland.

The university alliance The Arctic Six consists of UiT, Nord University, Luleå University of Technology, Umeå University, University of Oulu, and University of Lapland.

Taking over the leadership means that UiT is responsible for leading the coordination of joint programs in research, education, and innovation between six Arctic universities in Norway, Sweden, and Finland.

UiT took over the leadership of The Arctic Six during the conference Arctic Six Extended: Forum on Arctic Security, which was held at UiT in Tromsø on April 28th. The main theme of the discussions during the conference was total defense, in the form of various sustainable solutions to strengthen security and resilience in the Arctic regions.
