Tourist numbers decline in Iceland

The number of tourists in January decreased year-on-year, contrasting with the recent trend. The British are usually the most prominent group during winter, but now it is Americans.

According to the Icelandic Tourist Board, about 122,000 tourists arrived in Iceland in January. This is a 5.8 percent decrease from last year.

The number of British tourists in Iceland has declined year-on-year since October, whereas the number of American tourists has increased.
