Swims from Canada to Greenland for climate change

On Sunday, the 7th of August, the American adventurer Justin Fornal started a swim across the Nares Strait between Canada and Greenland. He plans to swim from the island Pim in Canada to Greenland - a distance of over 40 kilometers. This is reported by Kalaallit Nunaata Radioa.

The athlete, explorer, author and cultural detective, best known as the host for TV-show Unexplained and Unexplored on Science Channel, is therefore embarking on a historical expedition. He does so with pilot Wesley Archer to spread awareness of climate change. The expedition can be followed on their website The Great Arctic Swim.

If Fornal is successful, he will be the first person to ever swim across the Nares Strait. Fornal and Archer are guided and accompanied by Inuit hunters.
