Russian Military Chased American Fishing Boats

Bering Sea pollock fishermen Wednesday had close encounters with Russian military vessels within the U.S.’ exclusive economic zone, according to APM.

The Russian military vessels were conducting pre-announced exercises and requested American fishing vessels leave the area.

The American Coast Guard was notified.

The fishing vessels operated in the USA’s exclusive economic zone, however, international vessels are not prohibited from entering the zone.
