Rio Tinto Returns to Greenland
Bluejay Mining has entered into a cooperation agreement with Rio Tinto, one of the world’s largest mining companies, about the ilmenit project in northwestern Greenland, Sermitsiaq reports.
Ilmenit is a mineral used to extract titanium. The agreement a.o. includes industrial ilmenit being shipped from Greenland til the Rio Tinto facility in Quebec, Canada for testing and quality assurance – if they get approval for this from Greenland’s authorities.
Rio Tinto has a long history of involvement in projects in Greenland.
