Postpones Northguider Removal

The effort to remove the Northguider wreck on Svalbard has been postponed, according to the Norwegian Coastal Administration (Kystverket).

The wreck is in a worse condition than expected, and difficult ice and weather conditions have delayed the process so much that it now has to be postponed until next year, according to news from the vessel’s insurance company.

The Coastal Administration upholds its requirement about removing the vessel from its current position, where it ran aground around Christmas last year.
