The Norwegian Royal Couple will visit Svalbard and Mine 7

His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen are embarking on a new county tour from June 11th to June 17th, 2025.

The county tour began in Balsfjord municipality in Troms on Wednesday, June 11th. On Thursday, June 12th, the journey continues to Kvænangen municipality.

The county tour will conclude with a visit to Svalbard from Monday, June 16th to Tuesday, June 17th. There, the Royal Couple will visit Mine 7, the last active Norwegian coal mine. Mine 7 will be closed at the end of June, and the Royal Couple will meet with miners and receive a tour of the mine.

The royal couple will also visit the Farmhamna catch station, the Svalbard Museum, the Svalbard Satellite Station (SvalSat), and the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS), as well as experience the cultural elements of Longyearbyen's diverse cultural life.
