Norwegian LNS to Construct and Operate the World’s Northernmost Mine in Greenland

The Ironbark mining company and the Norwegian construction company Leonhard Nilsen & Sønner (LNS) have signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) about construction and operation of the Citronen Fjord Mine in Greenland, Sermitsiaq reports. The information comes from a statement from Ironbark to the Australian stock exchange.

“With their background in Arctic and Antarctic construction and mining there are few, if any, groups anywhere in the world more qualified to help us execute the vision we have for the Citronen Project”, says Ironbark CEO Michael Jardine.

“The Arctic is our home turf, and our experience fits very well with what Ironbark is requiring. I’m looking forward to continuing our cooperation and good work into the next phase of the Project”, says LNS President Frode Nilsen.

The Citronen Fjord mining project has secured future funding worth billions from the American investment bank US Exim.
