Norwegian Government Updates its Ocean Strategy
The Norwegian government has presented an update of its two year-old ocean strategy. The update is called "Blue opportunities".
Ocean-based industries account for approximately one third out of the total value creation in private business in Norway, and the government considers ocean wind, sea farming and mineral exploitation as potential growth areas.
The government will in 2020 present a whitepaper about revising and updating the management plans for the ocean areas Barents Sea – Lofoten, the Norwegian Sea, and the North Sea – Skagerrak.
