Norwegian Government Supports Arctic Farming Research Activity Project

The Norwegian government will fund a project for increased research activity in Arctic farming, with a one-off grant of NOK 600,000 to NIBIO from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

More knowledge is needed in order to adapt production to a changed climate and in order to succeed with developing and exploiting the brand of Arctic quality as a competitive advantage for farming in the High North, says Food and Agriculture Minister Olaug Bollestad (Christian Democratic Party).

The North Norwegian Farming Council has, along with NIBIO Holt and other cooperation partners, initiated a project for increased cooperation and mobilization for increased R&D activity in Arctic farming.

NIBIO Holt will be in charge of project management and coordination of the project.
