Norwegian Government Continues Strict Cruise Regulations

The Norwegian government has continued strict regulations for coastal cruises, regulations that initially will last until 1 November.

The regulations mean that Norwegian as well as foreign cruise skips can conduct coastal cruises along the Norwegian coastline with maximum 50 percent passenger capacity, though with an overall limit of 200 persons on board (crew and passengers). The regulations apply to cruise traffic only and not to passenger vessels operating fixed routes, such as e.g. Hurtigruten’s regular coast liner.

The same limit on number of persons onboard applies to Norwegian and foreign cruise ships whether sailing from Norwegian or foreign ports. Passengers and crew on ships sailing from foreign ports may not go onshore in Norway.
