Norway With New Minister of Foreign Affairs
Today, Monday, the Norwegian PM Jonas Gahr Støre (Labor) announced that he would appoint a new Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anniken Huitfeldt (Labor), will be replaced by Espen Barth Eide (Labor), who comes from the Minister for Climate and Environment position. He has previously held the position as both Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Defense in previous governments.
At a press conference this morning, Støre said that the case in which Huitfeldt's husband bought stock without her knowledge is part of the reason why she is finished as the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Støre has appointed seven new ministers in total, some of whom have never held positions as ministers before and some who will change ministries.
