Norway and Canada Extend Cruise Restrictions

The Norwegian government has decided that as for now, no changes will be made to the strict regulations for coastal cruises along the Norwegian coast and in Svalbard. A new evaluation will be made in the spring, or if significant changes were to require so.

Norwegian Health and Care Minister Bent Høie also reiterates the recommendation that everybody should avoid unnecessary travels at home as well as abroad. The government will make a new assessment by 1 May.

Canada has also prolonged its ban on foreign ships with more than 100 people onboard from entering Canadian waters until February 2022, according to CBC.

Canadian Transport Minister Omar Alghabra also extended an order prohibiting pleasure craft in Canadian Arctic waters except for those used by residents of the region.
