NORAD and U.S. Northern Command Conducts "Arctic Edge 2025"
The ongoing U.S Military exercise "Arctic Edge 2025" includes military activity along the Bering Strait coast, near America’s maritime border with Russia.
The exercise is being organized by U.S. Northern Command, which covers North America, and NORAD — the North American Aerospace Defense Command, a unified Canadian-American group.
The exercise, pointed toward Russia, includes activities in Nome, Kotzebue, Cold Bay and other sites near the U.S.-Russian maritime border.
Some of the training includes practice in how to track and intercept incoming cruise missiles, according to information published by U.S. Northern Command, which covers North America. Arctic Edge 2025 will be held throughout Alaska from Aug. 1-31, 2025.
AE25 also includes participation from UK, Denmark, and interagency partners including the Alaska National Guard, FBI, U.S. Coast Guard, NOAA, Alaska State and local law enforcement, and Alaska Native communities.
