Negative Corona Test Required Before Entering Svalbard

The Norwegian government tightens regulations for entering Svalbard. A negative Corona test taken within the last 24 hours is required prior to departure, the Norwegian government has announced. The test must be conducted on the mainland. It is advised against all unnecessary travel to Svalbard.

There will also be an assessment of the need for further measures, such as banning alcohol sales.

The new regulation are equivalent to those in force for entering Norway and are based on advice from the Norwegian Directorate of Health and the Public Health Institute.
