Marked the End of Lunckefjell

A delegation visited Svea last Monday to attend the closing down of the Lunckefjell mine, Svalbardposten writes.

The main point of the trip to Svea was to go through the clean-up work Store Norske has done lately before Hæhre Arctic takes over. Hæhre Arctic is to fill and shut the mine entrance with rocks and fillers.

The heaviest parts of the job are to be finished during 2019, however, some work will remain until 2020.

A total of NOK 706 million over two years has been allocated to the clean-up project in Lunckefjell. This sum includes operating the Svea society during this period as well as the planning of cleaning up Svea.
