Luleå Is Looking for New Residents in Poland and the Baltics

Sweden's private and public sectors are clamoring for labor in the face of the upcoming industrial investments. According to SVT, there is talk of as many as 100,000 new inhabitants.

In addition to trying to attract new residents from Southern Sweden, a delegation from Luleå municipality and the Luleå University of Technology has now visited Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia.

"The aim is to increase mobility long-term, not just from Southern Sweden to Northern Sweden, but also from the immediate areas in Europe," says Eva Jonsson, process manager for competence supply in Luleå municipality to SVT.

"We are not primarily looking for university graduates. Poland, for example, has a balance of professions that we do not," says Jonsson.
