Launches Norway's Battery Strategy

On Wednesday 29 June, the Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry Jan Christian Vestre (Labor Party) will present Norway's first battery strategy at Freyr Battery Park in Mo i Rana, North Norway.

According to the Norwegian government, Vestre will present ten measures for how Norway will develop a coherent and profitable battery value chain, from sustainable mineral extraction to battery recycling.

The government's goal is for Norway to be an attractive host country for profitable activity in the entire battery value chain and to attract the large battery investments and large factories.

The battery strategy is part of the government's green industrial strategy that aims to create new jobs throughout Norway, strengthen investments on the mainland, increase exports outside oil and gas by 50 per cent by 2030 and cut 55 per cent of greenhouse gas emissions by the same year.
