Ingrid Gjerde New Chief of the Norwegian Defence Staff

On Friday, Major General Ingrid Margrethe Gjerde was appointed Lt. General and Chief of the Norwegian Defence Staff.

"I will do my best to support the Chief of Defense [Eirik Kristoffersen, journ.note] in solving today's tasks and to strengthen the Armed Forces in a time of demanding security policies. I consider recruiting, retaining, and developing our personnel to be the most important investment area," says Gjerde in a press release from the Norwegian Armed Forces.

Gjerde takes over the job as Chief of the Norwegian Defence Staff after Vice Admiral Elisabeth Natvig.
