Hurtigruten Shuts Down Operations to a Minimum

Hurtigruten takes 14 out of 16 ships out of operation and reduces sailing between Bergen and Kirkenes to a minimum, according to a press release.

Following an agreement with the Norwegian government, Hurtigruten will operate local traffic along the coast between Bodø and Kirkenes in Northern Norway, due to preserve crucial transportation of goods and people along the coastline.

There has been no suspected or confirmed cases of corona infection on any of the Hurtigruten ships.

Hurtigrutens expedition cruise operations in Norwegian as well as foreign waters are also temporarily halted until 28 April.
