Greenland’s MFA will also serve as Minister of Independence
The Greenlandic government Naalakkersuisut has a new composition, it says in a press release on Monday.
In addition to reshuffles of ministers, an important change is that Vivian Motzfeldt (Siumut) – Naalakkersuisoq (minister) of Foreign Affairs – has also been given responsibility for issues surrounding independence from Denmark.
Motzfeldt's full title is now Naalakkersuisoq of Independence and Foreign Affairs.
In the time to come, her ministry will focus on the Act on Greenland Self-Government, the draft for a Greenlandic constitution (work on this was started in 2017) – as well as ensuring progress in the work on the formation of a Greenlandic nation state, reports Sermitsiaq.
