Greenlandic Fishermen Killed by Glacier

One person has been found dead and two other are missing following a glacier calving in northwestern Greenland Tuesday night, according to Sermitsiaq.

The three were reported missing Tuesday night after not coming home from fishing in the Ukkusissat area in the Uummannaq fjord.

A large search operation is currently ongoing to find the two remaining fishermen, a man of 29 and another aged 51. An emergency assistance team has also traveled to Ukkusissat to assist the village and the next-of-kind of the three fishermen.

The police encourages all people to keep a safe distance to the glaciers.
