Greenlandic Experiment Children Sue Danish State
The six remaining Greenlandic “experiment children” now sue the Danish state, Sermitsiaq writes.
In 1951, 22 Greenlandic children were removed from their families in an attempt to create a Danish-speaking elite in Greenland. The experiment had major negative consequences for most of these children.
The six remaining children are now 75-78 years of age. They sue the Danish state and request a compensation of DKK 250,000 each.
The Danish PM’s office has 14 days to respond to their claim.
