Greenland Minister Resigns

Greenlands Minister of Health, Social Services and Justice Doris J. Jensen resigned yesterday, following the revelation of unauthorised use of her government-issued fuel card.

Greenlands Minister of Health, Social Services and Justice Doris J. Jensen resigned yesterday, following the revelation of unauthorised use of her government-issued fuel card.

It has recently been revealed that Jensen's government-issued fuel card has been used unauthorised to buy fuel for a boat. The card user was not a member of her household, however, the person was able to use the fuel card as Jensen allegedly had kept the card's pin code together with the card in her service car.

When it yesterday became evident that Partii Naleraq and the Democrats would support a vote of no confidenc launched by the Inuit Ataqatigiit party, and that the vote would thus be supported by a majority, Jensen chose to resign, according to Greenland's daily Sermitsiaq.

Jensen will now resume her position as a representative in the Intsisartut, Greenland's Parliament.
