Greenland Expects Record High Number of Cruise Visits in 2022

At present, a total of 463 cruise ship visits to Greenland have been announced for this summer, Sermitsiaq writes.

“We expect that the number of visits reported will be on par with 2019, which set the previous record”, Sous Chef of Visit Denmark Mads-Daniel Skifte says.

Some 30 to 45 cruise vessels have announced their arrival in Greenland this summer. That causes optimism in the country’s tourist industry.

Skifte also points out that the cruise season grow longer in the future, as more ships suited for Arctic conditions are under construction at present.
