Greenland Exit from UNESCO program

Greenland’s parliament, the Naalakkersuisut, has decided to remove the Northeast Greenland National Park from the UNESCO Bisophere Program, where it has been listed since 1977.

One of the criteria for the program is for there to be a permanent population in the park, which is not the case in this park. Therefore, according to the Naalakkersuisut, there is no reason for the Northeast Greenland National Park to be part of the UNESCO program, Sermitsiaq reports
