Greenland Demands Equal Pay for Police

The two Greenlandic members of the Danish Folketing (parliament), Aki-Matilda Høegh-Dam (S) and Aaja Chemnitz Larsen (IA) have in their first meetings with Danish Finance Minister Nicolai Wammen demanded that police and prison officers in Greenland get the same pay as their colleagues in Denmark do, according to Sermitsiaq.

Public servants in these areas in Greenland receive DKK 4,500 less every month than do their colleagues in Denmark.

- We demand equal pay for equal work, says Chemnitz Larsen.

The two representatives also raised the issues of continued establishing of Child Houses in Greenland, as well as improving SAR resources in their meetings with the Minister.
