Greenland and the Faroe Islands in Security Policy Working Group

The Danish government has established a working group that is to work out a professional analysis prior to the defense agreement that is to be reached in 2022.

Greenland’s self-rule authority, the Naalakkersuisut, and the Faroe Islands’ Landsstyre [governing council], are participants in the working group’s work on the Arctic and the North Atlantic, according to Sermitsiaq.

– This analysis is to prepare us of challenges ahead, which a new defense agreement is to handle, and shall be related to the government’s new foreign and security policy strategy, which is due later this year, says Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod.
