Greenland and Faroe Islands to Co-Operate Closer
The Faroese lagmann Bardur á Steig Nielsen visited Greenland this week. Along with Greenland’s Premier Mute B. Egede he presented four areas in which the two countries want to cooperate closer, according to KNR.
The four are fisheries and education, efficiency in public management, as well as defense and security politices.
Greenland has since long had a shortage of ship officers with formal qualifications and therefore, many Greenlandic fishing vessels currently sail with Faroese officers.
