The French Foreign Minister says that France will open a consulate in Greenland on February 6th.

The background is the US President Donald Trump's desire to take control of the Arctic territory.

The US must stop blackmailing Greenland and expressing that it wants to take control of the self-governing Danish territory, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot in an interview with the radio channel RTL on Wednesday.
