Fishermen on Greenland Demand Military Clean-up of the Arsuk Fjord

Fishermen in the Arsuk Fjord on Greenland worry about pollution following past and present military activity at Grønnedal, according to Sermitsiaq. The fishermen regularly experience catching objects like old boats, vehicles and other objects on their long fishing lines.

- We argue that the seabed should be cleaned up and all waste responsibly disposed of, says Kunuk Albrechtsen, who speaks on behalf of the dinghy fishermen from Arsuk.

The fishermen recently voiced their concern in a public meeting between the local population and the Arctic Command.
