Farms In The North Strengthen Sweden's Preparedness
This is according to a trend report from the farmer co-operative Norrmejerier, shared by North Sweden Business.
The trend report states that proximity to farms means less transport, a reduced carbon footprint - and increased resilience across society.
Farming in northern Sweden is characterised by:
- Colder winters that reduce the need for plant protection products.
- Pastures and grassland that favour open landscapes and biodiversity
- 80 per cent of arable land is used for grassland, compared to 40 per cent in the rest of Sweden.
