Evaluation of BarentsWatch
Agenda Kaupang, commissioned by the Ministry of Trade and Fisheries, has carried out an evaluation of BarentsWatch in connection with the fact that in 2022 it was ten years since its establishment. The final report for the evaluation has now been handed over to the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Fisheries.
Agenda Kaupang concludes that BarentsWatch has achieved its goals in a good way.
"BW has developed into a central service provider for a number of players, both in the public and private sectors. The number of users has risen significantly, and the range of services has grown in line with the needs", the report states.
The digital platform BarentsWatch will contribute to Norwegian sea and coastal areas being used and managed in an efficient, sustainable and coordinated manner. BarentsWatch consists of an open, web-based information portal and a closed part that facilitates information sharing and a common situational picture for Norwegian public agencies with operational tasks in the sea areas.
