De Beers Looking for Diamonds on Greenland’s Western Seabed
Scientists from the Danish geological surveys (GEUS) in September explored Greenland’s western seabed for diamonds on behalf of De Beers, according to KNR.
The area explored is located north of Nuuk and south of Sisimiut, i.e. on the west coast of Greenland. The area is already known to have diamond deposits on land. The results from the survey are not clear yet.
In 2019, De Beers received permission to conduct land-based exploration, and in 2020 it received permission to conduct sub-sea exploration.
