Danish PM: One Voice in Foreign Policy

In yesterday’s Q&A at the Danish parliament, Folketinget, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that she is happy to develop cooperation within the Danish Realm and allow for more influence from Greenland and the Faroe Islands also when it comes to foreign policy; however, she said, there is also a limit as to how far she is willing to go, Sermitsiaq reports.

The prime minister, who represents the Social-Democratic Party, said she wants a more egalitarian cooperation between the three countries of the Realm, however, that the line is drawn when it comes to a potential independent foreign policy for Greenland.

- The backdrop for this discussion is, of course, the Constitution. I will not violate the Constitution, Frederiksen said.
