Covid-19 Outbreak in Yukon

Yukon's COVID-19 case count continues to grow quicker than it ever has, with 12 new cases announced on Tuesday. All the new cases involve the gamma or P.1 variant, according to CBC Canada.

The territory now has 33 active cases.

In a news release on Monday, health officials say 10 of the 12 new cases are in Whitehorse, and two are in unnamed rural communities. All are linked to a Whitehorse contact, and involve people between the ages of 10 and 40.

One of the latest cases involves someone who had been vaccinated.
