On Tuesday, 116 new infeciton cases and one death related to the Corona virus were reported in Alaska, according to the state’s Institute of Health and Social Services.

On Tuesday, 34 people in the state were registered hospitalized with COVID-19.

15 percent of the Alaskan population, 110,626 persons, have received at least one dose of the vaccination against the Corona virus. 45,626 have received both vaccination doses, according to the state’s Corona virus dashboard.

In total, 278 Alaskans have died with COVID-19 since the pandemic reached the state last March. The Alaskan death rate per capita is amongst the lowest of the entire USA.

Alaska saw a record-high number of infection cases and COVID-19 related deaths in November and early December last year. The number of hospitalizations related to COVID-19 also increased dramatically, and Anchorage entered into a month-long lockdown in December. This led to a reduction of registered cases.
