Cooperation Agreement between the Faroe Islands and the USA

When Carla Sands, the American Ambassador to Denmark, visited the Faroe Islands last June, the Faroese Foreign Minister Jenis av Rana suggested establishing a cooperation agreement between the Faroe Islands and the USA. Carla Sands agreed to the idea, and later US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo agreed to.

The agreement has now been negotiated, according to Faroese daily Kringvarp. On 12 November, the American Vice President will visit the Faroe Islands to sign the agreement.

The Faroe Islands also have to consult with Denmark prior to signing such an agreement.
