This Century's First Arctic Fox Litter Born in Finland

This century's first litter of Arctic Foxes was born in Finland, according to Metsähallitus, a state-owned enterprise which manages the Finnish land and water areas. This is reported by Yle.

The litter was born in the mountains in Enontekis, a municipality in Lappland, Northern Finland. The municipality borders Northern Norway and Northern Sweden.

The last registered litter was born in 1996 in Utsjoki, the country's northernmost municipality.

The Arctic Fox is highly endangered in Finland, and only 10-20 observations are made of them nationwide annually.
