The Arctic University of Norway Ranks Among the Top in Arctic Research

UiT The Arctic University of Norway is the second largest in the world in Arctic research, according to a new report.

The report «Arctic Research Trends – Bibliometrics 2016-2022» has been prepared by the UArctic Thematic Network and is based on data obtained from the academic database Scopus. It shows the number of publications globally within Arctic research in the years 2016–22.

According to the report, UiT has delivered 2,956 publications in Arctic research during this period. This means that UiT is the second largest in the world in terms of the number of publications in the field in the last six years – only the Russian Academy of Sciences, with its 6,645 publications, delivered more. In the report, however, it is pointed out that the academy consists of a network of research institutes across Russia.
