ANWR oil exploration may be futile

Oil and gas development in the ANWR Arctic refuge has been the goal of Republicans in Congress and many Alaskans for decades. The belief has been that the area holds North American’s biggest untapped onshore trove of oil.

According to The New York Times, however, there may not be much to develop.

According to findings from a test well drilled in Alaska more than three decades ago, the discovery well was worthless.
