Andøya Space Center requests NOK 1.3 billion

Andøya Space Center (ASC) wants to build Europe’s first launch base for small satellites in Norway. It now asks the government for NOK 1.3 billion in support, according to NTB.

The goal is to establish a space station that can launch smaller satellites from Andøya by the end of 2020.

In its application to the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries, which holds 90 percent of the ASC shares, the center requests a deposit of NOK 1.3 billion to establish the launch base.

General Manager and CEO Odd Roger Enoksen presented the project and submitted the application to Trade and Industry Minister Torbjørn Røe Isaksen (Conservatives) in Oslo Wednesday night.
