Anchorage Mayor Fined Over Inaccurate Campaign Spending Reporting

The Alaska Public Offices Commission has ruled that Anchorage Mayor Dave Bronson did not file accurate campaign spending reports during the runoff election earlier this year, according to APM. As a result, it has fined Bronson $38,500.

The initial complaint was made in April by lawyers for Forrest Dunbar, an Anchorage Assembly member and Bronson’s opponent in the runoff. Dunbar’s campaign asked that the complaint be expedited ahead of the election, but commissioners declined.

The final order was announced on Monday.
