Agreement Between the Arctic Command and Canada’s Coast Guard

The Arctic Command and the Canadian Coast Guard has signed a declaration about sharing experiences, according to Sermitsiaq. The two conduct a series of similar tasks in the Arctic and the North Atlantic, such as SAR missions, fisheries inspection and surveillance.

“This declaration represents a milestone”, says General Major Kim Jesper Jørgensen, Chief of the Arctic Command.

The cooperation between the Arctic Command and the Canadian Coast Guard follows not long after the Arctic Command signed an agreement with NATO’s maritime headquarters in September, covering strengthened surveillance in the Arctic and the North Atlantic.
