Transportation Giant with Record-High Results

The North Norwegian transport corporation Torghatten ASA with its headquarters in Brønnøysund has a result of NOK 308 million (€ 33 mill.) before taxes during the first half of 2017. That is the best first-half result the company has ever had and exceeds the same figure from last year by NOK 56 million.

That is the best first-half result the company has ever had and exceeds the same figure from last year by NOK 56 million.

During the first half of 2017, Torghatten’s turnover was NOK 4.7 billion.

- Our operation are stable and solid also in the underlying business areas, Managing Director Brynjar Forbergskog says in a press statement.

- We are highly engaged in constant renewal and edge-cutting operations, however, the result is also due to a tremendous effort from all our employees, he says.

Activities in sea transport and buses account for the largest turnover increase.

The company has entered into a series of new contracts, ordered new vessels and agreed on purchasing new jet planes for Widerøe air carrier during the first six months of this year.

- This contributes to continual growth for the company and further strengthens our competitive edge, the Managing Director argues.
