New Fiberoptic Cable Contract to North Norwegian Company

Nexans is to produce, supply and install a sea cable, fiber-optic cable included, in the Philippines. The cable will be placed in waters up to 650 metres’ depth and will provide people in the Philippines with a more reliable power grid, according to a press release.

The fiber-optic cable will be produced at Nexan Norway’s facility in Rognan, northern Norway, whereas the sea cable will be produced in Halden (near Oslo) as well as on the company’s facility in Japan.

The contract value is more than € 100 million.
